Welcome to all,

The purpose of this column is to help you understand the importance and
simplicity of your total Well- being. To feel good, function good and really
like yourself.
We are going to do the most difficult part first. We need to adjust our attitude
to think in a constructive positive way for life. We will take one step at
a time, enjoying every step of the way, because what you do slowly and EVERYDAY
is what you are.
Negative Effects of Blood Pressure Drugs
Have you been getting enough sleep? Are you drinking plenty of water, yes I know you have to go to the bathroom more than you want to, but think about that in a simple manner. You are functioning just like you are made to do. That’s a good thing. Make sure you put your energy where it will be most effective, and beneficial to you. Life is Simple Not Easy.
Are you increasing your exercise program? Maybe more biking, walking, swimming, stretching……That reminds me, do you know how to do simple exercises in a chair? Yes, you will get a great workout sitting down.
For example: I suggest you start with your head, very slowly make a circle. Then go to your shoulders, arms, stomach, legs, ankles, and feet. Remember in this type of exercise, the slowest person wins. The slower you go the more inner strength you gain. This is isometric exercise. Stretch your arms in all directions, one at a time. Count on each side, so you will do the same amount on each side. Balance is always the Key. When you want a change, start with your toes first, then go up your body to your head.
Editor’s Note: Many of these drugs work by “blocking” or “inhibiting” certain processes in the body. This seems unnatural and may be one of the reasons why their negative effects can build up to become life-threatening problems over time. The body is being stopped, NOT helped. * Released by the American Association of Clinical Research Physicians, 2000

Garlic - Of all the plants humans have used throughout history, garlic (allium sativum) is one of the most commonly used for its medicinal properties. Originating in the Middle East, this member of the onion family is antiviral, antibiotic, antifungal and has the power to heal disease, especially in the area of infections.
Over the last 25 years, the interest in garlic has increased in the worldwide scientific community. Garlic has been associated with the most critical health concerns: heart disease, cancer, and immune dysfunction.
Garlic cloves contain a sulfur amino acid called alliin. The compound has little action until it comes into contact with and enzyme called allinase. Since these two compounds exist in separate cells, this action can only occur when the is crushed. When these two compounds do come into contact, alliin is converted to a thiosulfinate called Allicin.
The sulfides and other compounds are quickly absorbed from the digestive tract then, extensively and rapidly metabolized.
Major clinical studies have now confirmed the therapeutic benefits of garlic: Heart protection, Cancer protection, Immune enhancement. Garlic has been shown to benefit those with respiratory infection, heavy metal poisoning, ear infection, high blood sugar, stress adaptability, alcoholic poisoning, and dysentery. As a major antioxidant, garlic disarms highly reactive free radicals.
When buying supplements be sure the processing of garlic is done with aging instead of heat. Japan has developed a process that enhances garlic’s antioxidant action.
The aging process focuses on garlic’s quality as an antioxidant and bioactivator, while by passing garlic’s unpleasant odor-inducing effect.
Cooking with garlic still retains some of the sulfur cinsittuents. Fresh, raw garlic can be irritating on an empty stomach. To reduce stomach irritation, take garlic with meals, especially protein-rich foods.

Attitude
Hi everyone, this is Gayle Rasmussen again, glad you are reading my thoughts today. The reason why today is different, I am going to talk about your beautiful and mysterious mind, instead of my writings about Nutrition. Today I’m going to share some very special and important thoughts about improving your attitude.
Why do you want to do this? You will be able to amaze and/or surprise yourself with what you can achieve, just by believing in what you are doing, starting right now.
The first thing you must realize is that, your brain/mind is listening to everything you say out loud or think to yourself. Example; “Hey, that’s to hard, I can’t do that.” Yes, you are right! Your mind is listening it believes you, and what you say. You believe it too, or you wouldn’t say that immediately, without thinking about it.
My theory and what I do is, think a moment and say,” Hey, that sounds hard but I will give it a try.” OR “I couldn’t do it before but maybe I can do it now.” Whenever you speak in the negative to yourself or anyone else. That’s our insecurity within us talking. I want you to be nicer to yourself because you have worked very hard to get what you want. You have been taken advantage of, by friends and loved ones too.
How do I know this, we are all Human Beings, we are all different in many ways and we are the same in many ways. You have felt the worst pain of your life and the highest joy of your life. (SO FAR) So have I in my own way.
So, what does all this mean, it means that being in the present and open enough to allow yourself to accept new information (learning), is a very exciting process for your brain/mind. Being able to accept change is refreshing for your life force.
Yes, it takes a long time to make new ways, a part of your life’s path. Think about this:
Set a goal for 10 weeks; everyday you will stay aware of what is happening to you and around you.
You will speak in a constructive, positive manner, to as many people as possible, everyday for 10 weeks.
That’s what it takes to begin a new habit, do it everyday for 10 weeks. Soon you will be doing it automatically.
LIFE IS SIMPLE, BUT NOT EASY
Think about it,……….Then DO IT!
Let me start with logic and simplicity. For life is really simple but NOT easy.
ON the bright side, what ever you do everyday for 10 weeks starts a habit
in your brain. Which makes the process of bettering your life a lot easier.
Rule # 1) Listen to your body. It will let you know what you need on a
daily basis. To do this you need to get quiet, by learning yoga for example.
You can sit in a quiet space. Breathe slowly and deeply in and out. Try to
count to 3, breathing in and count to 3 breathing out. Do this 10 times when
you wake up in the morning and when you go to sleep at night, relaxing and
listening to yourself.
At first you may not notice any difference. Don’t give up. Remember it takes
10 weeks to start a habit that will begin to work for the rest of your life.
Yes, you have to work at this everyday. You deserve to be healthy and feel good
every day.
Here’s another important message to begin your day. After you have been sleeping
for hours, lying down flat. Then you wake-up and jump out of bed to hurry and
get ready for the days work. It makes sense to get up slowly, so we won’t burden
our heart by going from one extreme to another. This is how many heart attacks
are caused. You should ROLL out of bed slowly and come to a standing position.
Do this everyday for 10 weeks and you will be starting another good habit.
Be kind to yourself and treat other people the way you want to be treated.
